Creating dream holidays in paradise!

Necker Island is owned by Sir Richard Branson who loves to share his island home in the beautiful BVI.  Necker is a 74 acre island and sits in turquoise waters surrounded by coral reefs and fringed with beautiful white sand beaches.   The island can be hired exclusively for groups of up to 40 adults plus six children, or during the specially selected Necker Celebration weeks throughout the year, individual rooms can be booked, which means you can still enjoy the Necker Island experience without having to rent the whole island.

Accommodation

The Great House on Necker Island is designed in Balinese style and boasts amazing panoramic views of the Caribbean, the Atlantic and neighbouring British Virgin islands.

Each of the eleven guest rooms in the Great House has a balcony with stunning views, and all rooms come with king-size beds, which can be twinned, and en-suite bathrooms. On the upper level is the stunning Master Suite, which is 1,500 square feet and has been designed to enjoy panoramic views from virtually every angle and includes a two-person Jacuzzi, a stand-alone outdoor bath and a kitchenette area with a fully-stocked fridge.

Also in the Great House is the “Bunk” room, which has six beds and is a great favourite with the children.

The Bali Houses

These seven individually styled villas are built in authentic Balinese style and each can accommodate one couple. Two can be split into twins and some come with their own meditation room. They have shared pools and individual entertainment systems. The Bali Houses on Necker Island are so romantic and so private.

Temple House

Temple House is situated right in the middle of Necker Island affording stunning panoramic views. Temple Master Suite and Temple Sunrise are also built in Balinese style and accommodate one couple in each.

The Great House on Necker is the place where people come together and has an expansive outdoor terrace with hammocks, comfy sofas and a large dining table for everyone to gather round to enjoy the wonderful food prepared by specially selected chefs. There is also a fully-stocked bar for favourite cocktails and up on the roof, the crow’s nest has amazing views and a Jacuzzi – perfect for sipping champagne as you watch the sun sink below the horizon.

Activities

There is so much to do on Necker Island, it is difficult to list everything! Water sports include kite-surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, power boat trips, snorkelling and, there is even an aqua trampoline which is anchored to the sea bed – great fun! Richard Branson has always been a great tennis fan and loves to play, so Necker boasts top quality tennis courts overlooked by a shaded pavilion with comfy sofas for spectators. There is a massive flat screen TV where you can catch up on the latest DVDs whilst lounging on the 26 foot sofa. There are games tables and an impressive selection of books and music (just what you would expect from someone who started out in the record industry!)

If you are a novice or someone who would like to brush up on their water sports or tennis skills, Necker provides highly qualified instructors who are very happy to share their knowledge with their guests.

Most of these activities are centred around the main beach on Necker Island.

Turtle Beach is a more peaceful, palm-fringed beach where you can relax in a hammock with a good book.

The swimming pool at the main beach on Necker is one of the most stunning pools in the British Virgin Islands. There is another infinity pool at the Great House on Necker and both pools have swim up bars.

Amenities

In the Great House on Necker, you can enjoy a game of snooker (there is a full size table), enjoy listening to music or make your own on the grand piano! There are guest computers with complimentary internet access or you can curl up and watch a good movie. Complimentary wi-fi is provided on Necker Island.

Dining

The dining experience on Necker Island is simply amazing. Top chefs prepare wonderful meals but if you just fancy a burger – it will probably be the best you have ever tasted!

Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and snacks whenever you are peckish, are all included in the cost. Unlimited alcoholic drinks including quality champagne are also included and if there is anything you particularly like, so long as the Necker team are notified in advance, they will do their utmost to provide it for you.

Cost

Staying on Necker – probably one of the world’s most exclusive islands, is not inexpensive but it is superb value for money and rivalled by nothing. Should you like to experience Necker Island, it is possible to book a room for 1 or 2 for a 7 night stay at certain times of the year. The cost for 2021 starts at £29,560.00 per room plus flights. You would share Necker with other guests. A whole island rental in 2020, based on 34 guests costs from £14,780.00 per person for 7 nights plus flights. Necker Island has not yet released costs for 2021. Enjoy your own private island and being waited on hand and foot for a whole week….this would be most peoples’ dream – YOU can make it a reality!

If you decide that Necker is outwith the realms of your designated holiday spend, BVI Holidays will be more than happy to make some suggestions for you.

Spa

When your day is nearly done why not finish off with a relaxing facial or massage at Necker’s own spa. Spa treatments are additional.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
