All bedrooms at Villa Ariana have air conditioning, ceiling fans and ocean views. There is an iPod docking station in each bedroom and also hairdryers.

Both the main house and guest house at Villa Ariana have large, fully-equipped modern gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite worktops.

Dining

If you can tear yourself away from Villa Ariana, there are lots of places on Tortola offering excellent dining. Sebastian’s on the Beach has a lovely restaurant overlooking the water, Tropical Fusion which is 5 minutes’ drive from Ariana Villa also has a beachfront location and the food is superb. For that really romantic, gourmet meal, the Sugar Mill at Apple Bay is just a bit further along the road and Bananakeet overlooking Carrot Bay offers stunning panoramic views and fabulous food. You can boogie the night away at Quito’s, Cane Garden Bay and the food is great too. T-shirt and shorts definitely acceptable followed by barefoot dancing! Soper’s Hole is close by and there you can enjoy a humongous burger and fries at Pusser’s.

If you want to see a big sporting event while munching on fried chicken and Johnnie Cake, Captain Mulligans at Nanny Cay is the place to be. The atmosphere there is electric!

If you prefer to stay home but don’t want to cook, a chef can be arranged. He or she will be delighted to come to Villa Ariana and cook for you. You can of course do your own barbecue on your gas grill.

Amenities

Villa Ariana is conveniently placed for getting around Tortola. The West End ferry dock is less than 10 minutes’ drive where you can jump on the ferry to Jost van Dyke and enjoy lunch at the Soggy Dollar bar followed by afternoon cocktails at Foxy’s.

You can book a day sail from Soper’s Hole at West End and enjoy browsing around the shops or sit lazily with a cold beer and watch the yachts coming and going from the marina.

Cane Garden Bay is the place to go for small boat sailing, paddle boarding and other water sports and you can also visit the Callwood Rum Distillery and be regaled with tales of yore and pirates! Between November and March, the surf is up at Apple Bay which is 5 minutes’ drive from Villa Ariana and it is fun to watch the surfers and boogie boarders providing impromptu and unwitting entertainment. You can of course join in! Surfboards and boogie boards are available to hire.

The Botanical Gardens in Road Town, the capital of the BVI, is definitely worth a visit and this could be followed by an exhilarating trip above the treetops with the Original Virgin Canopy Tour. The views soaring high above Tortola are simply spectacular. Afterwards coffee and homemade cake at the French Deli and Gourmet Shop…..is a must!

The diving around the BVI is incredible and Blue Water Divers is a short drive from Ariana Villa. They will take care of everything for you and you won’t even have to clean your equipment afterwards.

If you would like to visit Virgin Gorda, it’s easy to do this for the day as the ferry dock is a short drive from Ariana Villa.

Nothing is far from Ariana Villa on Tortola. You can even visit Anegada for the day by ferry or a short 12 minute flight.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
