BVI Holidays is proud to be able to offer you the chance of bareboating in the British Virgin Islands – not only a sailor’s paradise but widely known as the Sailing Capital of the World! A bareboat charter gives you the opportunity to see the BVI from the water and to enjoy easy but also challenging sailing; to go at your own pace and include as many overnight stops and sheltered anchorages as you wish.
Between November and January the prevailing winds in the BVI are usually around 15-20 knots and the Christmas winds can produce winds of 25-30 knots for several days at a time. From February into March the BVI enjoys sailing winds of around 17-23 knots. Usually by June this reduces to around 10-15 knots
Yachts for bareboat charter include monohulls from Bavaria, Jeanneau, Beneteau and catamarans from Lagoon, Nautitech, Helia, Astrea. The BVI fleets cater for various party sizes offering a choice of small, medium and larger yachts sleeping from 4 to around 13 guests. All yachts in the British Virgin Islands are equipped with VHF radio, GPS, dinghy with outboard, electric windlass, roller furling genoa, fridge, freezer, CD player, charts, gas barbecue, linens and towels and a host of other useful items. Air conditioning is also available on several of the BVI yachts. Kayaks, windsurfers and snorkel gear are available to rent and provisioning can be pre-arranged. A cook can also be provided at additional charge.
Perhaps you prefer a fly bridge to a sports bridge? No problem – our BVI fleets can accommodate your preferences.
Experience is essential if you want to skipper your own boat, but if you would like the exhilaration of sailing in the BVI without the responsibility, a skipper can be provided for an additional charge.
