They each feature King canopy bed, twin day beds, en suite bathroom and verandah with hammock chairs, table and 2 chairs overlooking miles of pristine white sand beach. One of the Palapa Retreats has two bedrooms each with en suite bathroom and one Palapa even has 2 bath tubs on the deck outside! Enjoy spectacular views and cooling ocean breezes.

This is unique luxury beachfront living at its best!

Amenities

There is free wi-fi throughout Anegada Beach Club and a giant Jenga game which is great fun but very frustrating! A Horseshoes game is also provided for guests’ enjoyment.

Activities

Bone fishing on Anegada is excellent and there are several local guides who offer trips around the flats and are keen to share their knowledge and expertise with their guests. The largest bonefish landed on Anegada to date was 19lbs on a 10lb test line in 8′ of water. Now there’s a challenge to beat!

One of Anegada’s great attractions is the Horse Shoe Reef which is the fourth largest barrier reef in the world and the diving here is spectacular. However, if you prefer being closer to the surface, the snorkelling off the beach at the Anegada Beach Club is excellent and equipment can be rented at the beach.

Anegada Beach Club has its own Kiteboarding and Paddleboarding School with professional instructors, which will provide endless entertainment for the adventure seekers among the guests. Tommy Gaunt is a world class kitesurfer and certified instructor of kitesurfing and paddleboarding and offers all levels of lessons from beginners to advanced, allowing guests to fully enjoy their experience on the water.

There is also beach badminton, volleyball and kayaking available to guests and if you fancy a bit of exploring – scooters, dirt bikes and bicycles are all available to rent.

Relaxation

If all this sounds too much like hard work, Anegada Beach Club is the perfect place to relax by the swimming pool or take a good book and stroll through the sand dunes to the white sand beach, where you will find one of the best beach lounges in the BVI. Curl up in comfort, cocktail in hand and enjoy the stunning views.

Dining

The restaurant at Anegada Beach Club is all toes-in-the-sand dining offering delicious food with island specialties such as Coconut Cracked Conch, Anegada Lobster (freshly caught that day!), Mahi-Mahi, Pizza from their own pizza oven and the famous BLLT – Bacon, Lettuce, Lobster and Tomato sandwich. There is a gourmet dinner menu which includes Beef Tenderloin, Seared Scallops, Roasted Duck and much more to tempt your palate.

On some evenings you may wish to venture further afield and sample some of the other many good restaurants on Anegada – Cow Wreck, The Wonky Dog, Big Bamboo to name but a few. Anegada Beach Club provide free transportation to and from the Lobster Trap.

After dinner you can take a cocktail and stroll along the softly lit path to the beach – what could be more romantic.

Palapa guests must be over the age of 6 years.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
