Lighthouse Villas

Lighthouse Villas offer a choice of several comfortable, self-catered apartments. Each one has a well equipped kitchen and a balcony to give you the option of dining alfresco. All the apartments have spectacular views of the bay and neighbouring islands. The rooms have open plan living areas that are all beautifully decorated with a relaxing colour scheme of greys, blues and white. You’ll find king size beds in all the bedrooms, and a spacious bathroom in each apartment. The accommodation consists of three different types of suites; Terrace, Palm Tree and Penthouse, all with views of Cane Garden Bay. Suitable for 2 to 6 people, these are ideal for singles, couples, families or groups of friends. The apartments are also equipped with air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, as well as cable TV and free Wi-Fi internet access.

The Lighthouse Villas also have a plunge pool and Jacuzzi, complete with a decking area for you to relax in after a long day at the beach.

The Lighthouse Villas are just quarter of an hour’s drive from Road Town, capital of the BVI, where you will find an abundance of great restaurants, shops and local entertainment. For eating out a bit closer to home, there are several restaurants and bars right on the beach at Cane Garden Bay. You can also dance the night away to live local bands including Quito Rymer and the Edge who offer the best reggae music in the British Virgin Islands.

The Lighthouse Villas are right next to Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Here you can enjoy all sorts of water activities, including small boat sailing, snorkelling, windsurfing and kayaking. There is plenty to do and see on Tortola, from relaxing on the beaches to renting a jeep to explore the island. You can also hire a motor boat from Island Time at Nanny Cay on Tortola (they will deliver) and visit one of the other nearby islands….Sandy Spit, Sandy Cay and Green Cay are only 3 of the beautiful British Virgin Islands that you can easily visit from Cane Garden Bay, Tortola. Jost van Dyke, home to the famous Soggy Dollar Bar and Foxy’s, is also easily accessible from Cane Garden Bay. Island Time also provide a water taxi service.

Brewer’s Bay, Tortola is a short drive from Cane Garden Bay and is spectacular when the surf is up. You can also surf at Little Apple Bay between November and March. This is approximately 10 minutes drive from Cane Garden Bay.

Day trips are easy to book and a must, is a day out with Patrick at Celtic Power Boats located on Tortola. Patrick will give you a private guided tour and show you parts of the BVI you didn’t know existed!

Zip-lining is exhilarating and great fun and you can do this on Tortola with the Original Virgin Canopy Tour company.

The Botanical Gardens in Road Town, Tortola are small but beautiful and well worth a visit and no trip to the BVI would be complete without a visit to Calwood Rum Distillery which is located in Cane Garden Bay – you get to sample the rum too!

You will be spoilt for choice. There are numerous beach bars and restaurants to choose from – all a stone’s throw from The Lighthouse Villas and scattered along the white sand beach. Quito’s Gazebo and Myett’s offer live music on selected evenings and a few minutes drive will take you to Carrot Bay where Bananakeet and da Coal Pot serve excellent food. Less than 15 minutes drive will take you to Road Town, the capital of the British Virgin Islands, where the choice is even wider. Choose from the Dove, Charlies, A Taste of India, Fantasia by Giorgio etc. etc. – the list is endless.

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
