Creating dream holidays in paradise!

The Bitter End is back! In 2017 Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda was destroyed by Hurricane Irma. It has taken some time, but now BVI Holidays is pleased and proud to introduce you to Bitter End II. There are some changes of course as the owners have taken the opportunity to upgrade and improve the hotel but still retaining the charm and uniqueness that always has been and can only be, Bitter End.

Bitter End is situated at the most north-eastern tip of Virgin Gorda, on 75 acres of land. The resort looks out onto a mile long white sand beach and its stunning location in the North Sound makes it a popular destination for yachting enthusiasts. Virgin Gorda is the British Virgin Island’s second most populated island, and whilst there is much to see and do here, the resort itself feels secluded and relaxed.

Bitter End II is a water sports enthusiast’s paradise. This is due to Bitter End’s protected, deep-water harbour, steady trade winds and proximity to vivid coral reefs. Bitter End has always offered the best selection of water sports anywhere in the Caribbean and possibly, worldwide. Bitter End II is constantly expanding their water sports programme which is rivalled by none.

Activities

Visit the Water Sports Shack and meet the Bitter End Crew. You can master sailing, diving, windsurfing, kayaking, kiteboarding and more. Wing Foiling is going to be added to Bitter End II’s water sports programme. This is a young sport but proving hugely popular and in the BVI, you can only find this at Bitter End II.

The legendary Bitter End II Club Fleet will continue to expand with new watersports programmes, including kiting, wing foiling, and windsurfing in the place many says boasts the best conditions globally.

The white sand beach at Bitter End is approximately a mile long and great for relaxing and swimming.

Dining

The Clubhouse at Bitter End II is back!

The Clubhouse at Bitter End was built in 1969 as a spot for yachtsmen and women to stop off for a quick drink and a hearty meal. Today the new and improved Clubhouse retains its original character with a wall of memorabilia which provides the perfect backdrop for an evening of swapping tall sea tales and sharing rounds of rum!

Enjoy a cold beer or an early evening cocktail at the Reef Sampler Beach Bar and visit the Buoy Room, Bitter End II’s new casual eatery for pizza or a delicious burger.

Upstairs at the Quarterdeck overlooks the marina and gives the impression of walking into an olde-world maritime living room with outdoor lounge seating and stunning views of the BVI. Here you can enjoy rum punch, artisan cocktails, small bites, and sunsets like you have never seen before.

2023 will bring new, exciting openings and additional amenities to Bitter End’s rollicking nautical village and watersports programs.

Shopping

The Reeftique is a great boutique at Bitter End II offering clothes, fashion accessories and jewellery. The Market is the place to go for freshly baked bread, wine and a good selection of groceries.

2023 will bring new, exciting openings and additional amenities to Bitter End’s rollicking,  nautical village and watersports programmes.

So come,  discover where West Indies heritage meets world-class hospitality at the new Bitter End. Bitter End II is being enhanced and improved but the main thing is Bitter End on Virgin Gorda is back and YOU can stay in one of their fabulous over-water Marina Lofts.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
