Accommodation

Limeberry House provides everything you could possibly want from a Caribbean holiday home. The focal point of the communal areas is the covered alfresco dining space on the balcony, and the villa also boasts a fantastic gourmet kitchen, complete with gas stove. The sundeck around the private pool is the perfect place to relax and offers stunning views of the sparkling sea and neighbouring islands in the BVI. The villa is decorated in a mixture of blues, pinks and coral colours. This creates a relaxed and airy feeling which is complimented by the open plan interior. The works of art that hang from the walls inside and outside the villa add to the feeling you are staying somewhere truly unique and special.

Limeberry House can accommodate up to six people in comfort, making it an ideal destination for families or for escaping with friends. The three air-conditioned bedrooms each have an en suite bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have four-poster beds, while the third has a king size bed.

Amenities

The owners of Limeberry House provide everything you need to make your holiday on Tortola perfect. Essentials like a washing machine and tumble dryer are provided, but it’s the little extras that really make your stay special. A great selection of books and games are thoughtfully provided for your enjoyment, as well as cable TV and a high speed internet connection. A light meal to welcome you to Limeberry House will be prepared and left in your fridge in readiness for your arrival.

Limeberry’s location allows you to make the most of Tortola’s beautiful beaches. It is just a short walk away from Long Bay and also Smugglers Cove which is great for snorkelling.

Activities

You will find a guide book waiting for you when you arrive at Limeberry House, which will help you get the most out of every day you spend on Tortola. There’s plenty to do and see on the island, and plenty of great restaurants and bars to enjoy. Book a day sail around the BVI from nearby Soper’s Hole or book yourself in for a diving course with the experts – Blue Water Divers. When the surf is up between November and March, you can surf and boogie board the waves at Little Apple Bay and Capoons Bay, approximately 5 minutes drive from Limeberry House. 15 minutes drive will take you to Cane Garden Bay with its stunning white sand beach and water sports which include kayaks, sailing dinghies and snorkel gear for hire. You can also take a ferry to visit Jost van Dyke and the famous Soggy Dollar Bar from the West End ferry dock which is 5 minutes drive from Limeberry House.

For something completely different, flying high over Tortola is a must with the Original Virgin Canopy Tour. It’s similar to zip-lining only safer and quieter. They are based in Road Town, the capital of the BVI and when you have completed your exhilarating tour, a visit to the Botanical Gardens in Road Town will be a lovely way to round off another day in paradise.

Spa services are available at nearby Soper’s Hole or the Sugar Mill Hotel.

Dining

Limeberry House is located just a few minutes drive from Tropical Fusion restaurant, Sebastian’s on the Beach restaurant and Pusser’s at Soper’s Hole on Tortola. Sugar Mill hotel’s restaurants are also a short drive. Limeberry House is 20 minutes drive from Road Town, the capital of the British Virgin Islands, where there is a wide selection of good restaurants to choose from – The Dove, Fantasia by Georgio’s, A Taste of India, Charlies and many more.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
