Complete Privacy

One of the things that makes Sundowner so special is its private location. It’s ideal for couples who would like a secluded holiday just for two. It has its own lane which is actually called Paradise Lane, Virgin Gorda and where you can park your rental vehicle. From here, simply walk down the stone steps, through the gardens and onto the villa’s sun deck.

Dining

Sundowner is a short walk from the Sugarcane Restaurant and Bar at Nail Bay and 10 minutes drive from a variety of restaurants on Virgin Gorda Island. The views from Hog Heaven restaurant on Virgin Gorda are stunning and less than 10 minutes drive from Sundowner. A visit to Coco Maya is a must and this beachside restaurant complete with fire pit is also a short drive from Sundowner.

If you want to stay in but don’t want to cook, in-villa catering can be arranged and your own private chef will come to Sundowner and prepare a gastronomic meal just for you.

Amenities

Sundowner offers a wealth of amenities to make you feel right at home. There are two 32-inch flat screen TVs, and an accompanying DVD player. Also provided is an Apple iPad which contains information about the Sundowner villa, music and over 25 movies. Skype and Facetime are also loaded. There is Wi-Fi internet throughout the property.

The King size bed is elevated affording spectacular views of the Caribbean sea and the bathroom has an outdoor shower with a view.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need including a full spice rack. There is a stainless steel fridge and freezer, dishwasher, toaster oven, espresso machine and coffee maker and even a bread maker. A washing machine and dryer are also provided for your convenience.

Sundowner has air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout to keep you cool during the hottest periods.

Outside

Sundowner has a spacious sun deck, which has a small infinity-edge pool with waterfall. There’s also a covered section which contains a dining table, wicker bar, seating area with comfy sofas and loungers and a stainless steel gas grill for barbeque evenings. There is also a small herb garden to complement your culinary skills.

You are only steps away from Sundowner’s own beach and the owner has thoughtfully provided kayaks for guests’ use.

Activities

There is a lot to do on Virgin Gorda and the Sports Club at Nail Bay is a few minutes walk. There you can play tennis, squash, table tennis, work out in the gym and then cool off in the swimming pool. Leverick Bay is about 10 minutes drive and here you can hire a motor boat, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, hobie cats and experience fly-boarding with Blue Rush Water Sports. If you would like to dive, Dive BVI is located at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour where you can book day or night-time diving and snorkel trips.

A day out on the water is great fun and you can book a trip with Captain Dave at Double D Charters. Again, they are located at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour.

You can also take the ferry to Tortola or Anegada for the day. The ferry dock on Virgin Gorda is about 10 minutes drive from Sundowner.

If all of this sounds too much like hard work, you can simply chill out on the beach at Sundowner.

Spa

The Spa at Leverick Bay is approximately 10 minutes drive from Sundowner and offers a variety of treatments – facials, massage, manicures, pedicures etc.. If you would prefer to have a massage in the comfort of your accommodation, the Leverick Bay Spa therapists will come to Sundowner.

Travelling to the BVI

Travelling from the UK to the British Virgin Islands

The most direct way is from Gatwick to Antigua with British Airways and onwards to Tortola with inter-Caribbean Airways, which is also a non-stop flight. Virgin Atlantic fly from Heathrow to Antigua and the onward flight is with inter-Caribbean Airways to Tortola. Alternatively, BVI Holidays can charter a private aircraft just for you and your party. You will be met when you disembark your transatlantic flight and fast-tracked through immigration and customs and taken to your waiting aircraft.

Travelling from Scotland

Flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow can also be arranged to connect with the Gatwick and Heathrow flights on certain days. Flights from regional airports can be arranged through Paris or Amsterdam to St Maarten and onwards to the BVI.

Travelling from New York, Boston or Miami

If you would like to have a few nights in New York, Boston or Miami before heading to BVI, this can also be arranged. The onward flight is via Puerto Rico which is a 35 minute hop over to the British Virgin Islands or again, a private charter can be arranged.

There are no direct flights to the BVI which is why the islands remain unspoilt, uncrowded and uncommercialised. From the summer of 2023, there will be a flight from Miami direct to Tortola.
