Improvements and changes for the better are happening constantly in the BVI. The owners of Long Bay Beach Resort on Tortola have been busy upgrading and rebuilding their rooms which look amazing, and they have just finished refurbishing the tennis courts and adding Pickleball courts, which guests can use free of charge. Complimetary tennis and Pickleball lessons are available to guests of Long Bay Beach Resort once a week. Long Bay now provide bikes, standup paddle boards, canoes and a drop off and pick-up service to Smuggler’s Cove on Tortola which is only about a mile away. Smuggler’s Cove has a stunning beach where you can snorkel.
Long Bay Beach Resort also offers complimentary yoga at the beach and a sauna and cold plunge pool too.
On the island of Virgin Gorda, Bitter End Yacht Club is in the process of building new rooms and will reopen later this year. Bitter End has the most fabulous over-water rooms which are the only ones in the BVI and more of these are coming. Watch this space!
Peter Island which is a 20 minute boat ride from Tortola is due to reopen later this year and looks amazing. Everyone is so excited that Peter Island is almost back and it will be even better than before. I will be adding more information about Peter Island in 2-3 months, but if you are interested in making a reservation for October. You can do this now – just call or email BVI Holidays.
Regarding sailing in the BVI, the charter companies are constantly renewing and updating their fleets. Yachts in the BVI are of a very high standard – well maintained and looked after. The charter companies in BVI are based on Tortola and offer bareboat chartering, luxury crewed yachts, by-the cabin charters and motor yachts. If you can’t sail but want to experience the thrill and exhilaration of sailing, BVI Holidays can hire a skipper for you or you can rent a cabin aboard one of our popular by-the-cabin charters.
If you have a large group and would like to hire a villa, Allamanda Estate on Beef Island has been recently refurbished and expanded to offer 7 bedrooms. Allamanda has spectacular views from the roof top terrace, and is a great spot to watch the sunset whilst sipping your favourite cocktail. Beef Island is only a few minutes’ drive over the bridge to Tortola.
Another great choice of villa is MyAll on Tortola. MyAll has six bedrooms and is fairly unique in design as the lounge is built around a massive boulder. The infinity pool enjoys stunning views of the BVI. If you have an even larger group, MyAll can be combined with Maxi Cooper and Mini Cooper to offer 9 bedrooms in total. Although the villas are in close proximity to each other, they are far enough apart to give the occupants total privacy if so desired. The villas are next to the breathtaking white sand beach which is Trunk Bay on Tortola….what more could you want?
If you decide to book a villa in the BVI but don’t want to cook, a chef can be arranged for you.
